The project has received a number of awards as part of its proposal, including the 2025 Governor's Education Award, the 2025 Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Excellence and Excellence in Innovation Award, the 2025 Duke Energy and Technology Center Excellence in Research Award, and the 2025 NC Department of State Innovation and Entrepreneurship Office and Excellence in Research Award. As of the completion of this project in March 2017, BPS has received 2.1 Million from the North Carolina Department of Labor.
